Did you know that all it takes to start the growth cycle for the blue oyster mushroom is a change in environmental conditions, such as humidity, light, temperature, and changes to oxygen and CO2 levels? Pretty cool, right? To give them the best chance of success, we recommend growing your blue oyster block in a fruiting chamber like a monotub or martha tent, which will help control the environment and decrease the risk of contamination. To get the right conditions, you can find all the environmental parameters you need in the specifications tab, so you can create the perfect growing environment for your blue oyster mushrooms. When it's time to start fruiting, simply slice the bag with a diagonal line or an X and place the block face up. Just keep in mind that blue oyster mushrooms are prone to forming long stems and small caps when CO2 levels are too high, so be sure to maintain the right conditions. When it comes to harvesting, it's best to do it when the caps are still slightly turned under, which will extend the shelf life of your mushrooms. So go ahead and give it a try - I can't wait to see how your blue oyster mushrooms turn out!
